Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Calufo AI ("Calufo", "we", "us") handles your information when you use the Calufo mobile app.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address from the identity provider.
• Profile information. The age, sex, height, weight, activity level, and goals you enter during onboarding.
• Meal logs. Meal names, calories, macros, meal times, and any photos you choose to upload.
• Device & usage data. Basic information needed to operate the app (e.g. app version, error reports).

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the core service: storing your meals, computing daily totals, and showing progress.
• To estimate nutrition from food photos using third-party AI providers (see Third Parties below).
• To maintain and improve the app, debug issues, and prevent abuse.

3. Third Parties

• Supabase — authentication, database, and storage of your meal logs and photos.
• Google (Gemini) — meal photos you choose to scan are sent to Google's Gemini API to produce nutrition estimates. We do not send photos to Gemini unless you explicitly initiate a scan.
• Apple and Google identity providers for Sign in with Apple / Sign in with Google.

4. Data Retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. You may request account and data deletion at any time by emailing the address below; we will delete your data within 30 days of a verified request.

5. Your Choices

• You can edit or delete individual meals from inside the app.
• You can sign out at any time from the Profile screen.
• You can request export or deletion of all your data by email.

6. Children

Calufo is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encrypted transport, row-level security on stored data) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Changes

If we make material changes to this policy we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in-app.
